About Us
At a time of bereavement, organising a funeral can be extremely painful and
difficult. Beckfords have four highly trained funeral directors who step in
and take some of the strain at an emotional time.
Jane Duquemin says "Funeral directors have a unique role within the grieving process. When we are first contacted we are fully aware that we are entering a highly emotional environment that requires the utmost care and empathy. We are most often called in just after death and have found, through many years of experience, that we are able to help lift the weight of concern over the funeral arrangements. An important part of being a funeral director is our ability to assess a situation quickly and with empathy. The bereaved relatives and friends are dealing with sadness, shock and grief, often for the first time. We help to put their minds at ease and guide them all through the funeral process with great sensitivity and care."
Clem Duquemin says "Beckfords has been organising funerals in Guernsey for over 130 years. This experience, combined with the best training and that all important natural ability and a desire to help people, make our funeral directors amongst the best in the UK." Steve Payne added "We take care of the detail, leaving the bereaved time to mourn, an important part of the healing process."
Dennis Wherry says "Most people are surprised at the range of funerals
available, varying
from large funerals, burials or cremations right through
to small, private affairs.
Although built on Christian principles, Beckfords
are experienced in organising
the arrangements for funerals of all faiths
and beliefs, in a caring and
respectful manner.
